Commissioned by the Friends of the Library, the “Library Lizard” is a welcoming presence at the north entrance of the Downtown Prescott Public Library. In the spirit of the library’s educational mission, you can learn about the short-horned lizard by reading the book in the lizard’s hand. As with many of Heather’s sculptures there are little surprises to find if you look closely. A bee, ladybug, butterfly and dragonfly are waiting to be discovered. This sculpture is meant to be to be interactive. It is not unusual to see a child sitting on it, petting it or just looking all around it finding all of the hidden elements.
